About SCORES

The School Competition Official Results Service (“SCORES”) is a pilot website which will showcase the results of a selection of team sports played by local secondary schools based in the West Midlands. Over 30 schools based in the Black Country, Birmingham and Hereford & Worcester have been selected for the project. The site has been designed to be easy to use for pupils, PE teachers and everyone involved in organising and managing school sports competitions. The pilot project is the first stage of an ambitious project by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (“DCMS”) to commission a national database of school sports results.

The 14-week pilot project will display league results for football and basketball and will be used for both inter and intra-schools competitions and leagues. If successful, it is anticipated that the DCMS will commission a national database of school sports results as part of its ongoing commitment to building a vibrant sports culture across the UK, helping encourage children into sport and a healthy ‘playing-to-win’ culture into English sport at grassroots level. The national database will operate for all 5-19 year olds involved in the widest range of school sports.

SCORES is a collaboration between 4iP, Screen West Midlands, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (“DCMS”) and the Youth Sports Trust (“YST”). AllTeams UK Ltd has been commissioned to design and build the pilot website.

Currently SCORES is a completely closed system but if you wish to find out more please use the register interest form on the home page. We will be sending out updates on the pilot as it progresses.
